چکیده
The rotation curves for a sample of 67 spiral galaxies observed by Márquez et al.(2002) have been used as input for the multiphase chemical evolution model. By using N[II]/Halfa as estimator of the oxygen abundance, we constraint the possible models for each galaxy. We may, then, predict the time evolution of these galaxies and the present time radial distribution for gas, stars, and star formation rate surface densities and elemental abundances.

Evaluation of New MOND Interpolating Function with Rotation Curves of Galaxies
The rotation curves of a sample of 46 low- and high-surface brightness galaxies are considered in the context of Milgrom's modi_ed dynamics (MOND) to test a new interpolating function proposed by Zhao et al. (2010) [1] and compare with the results of simple interpolating function. The predicted rotation curves are calculated from the total baryonic matter based on the B-band surface photometry,...
متن کاملAdsorption of Fe (II) from Aqueous Phase by Chitosan: Application of Physical Models and Artificial Neural Network for Prediction of Breakthrough
Removal of Fe (II) from aqueous media was investigated using chitosan as the adsorbent in both batch and continuous systems. Batch experiments were carried out at initial concentration range of 10-50 mg/L and temperature range of 20–40˚C. In batch experiments, maximum adsorption capacity of 28.7 mg/g and removal efficiency of 93% were obtained. Adsorption equilibrium data were well-fitted with ...
متن کاملThe Inner Scale Length of Spiral Galaxy Rotation Curves
We use the tapering effect of Hα/[N II] rotation curves of spiral galaxies first noted by Goad & Roberts (1981) to investigate the internal extinction in disks. The scale length of exponential fits to the inner part of rotation curves depends strongly on the disk axial ratio. Preliminary modelling of the effect implies substantial opacity of the central parts of disks at a wavelength of 0.66 μ....
متن کاملStructure of visible and dark matter components in spiral galaxies at redshifts z = 0 . 5 − 0 . 9
We have constructed self-consistent light and mass distribution models for four disk galaxies at redshifts z = 0.48, 0.58, 0.81 and 0.88, using the HST archive WFPC2 observations (HDF-S, MDS, Groth Strip survey) and rotation curves measured by Vogt et al. (1996) and Rigopoulou et al. (2002). The models consist of three components: a bulge, a disk and a dark matter halo. Similarly to the sample ...
متن کاملThe Balance of Dark and Luminous Mass in Rotating Galaxies
The rotation curves of spiral galaxies become approximately flat at the largest radii observed [1, 2]. This is one of the strongest indications of the need for dynamically dominant dark matter in the universe. While the need for dark matter at large radii is clear, its quantity and distribution is less so. Cogent but contradictory arguments can be made about the relative importance of dark and ...
